Rhythm Volleyball Libero Training Academy

Rhythm Volleyball Academy (RVA) will be offering a 3-session national training program designed specifically for elite defenders. RVA recommends this program to highly motivated club members who would like an enriched, individualized training tutorial to advance their skills at the libero position. This is player centered not a team oriented training. We find the most productive training environment stems from grouping like-minded individuals into a highly structured small group setting, led by proven coaches. RVA welcomes you to grow your competitive performance in this focused training group.

Lead Coach:

Christina Saenger will lead each session, which is designed to address the unique needs of the libero and defender positions.  With nearly a decade of coaching experience across all ages and competitive levels, Christina brings both a deep technical knowledge and a passion for player development.  She has led over 2,000 hours of private and small group lessons, training athletes ages 5–18 across all positions, with a strong emphasis on defense.

Christina is currently the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, TN, and the head coach of Rhythm 16-1, where she recently led her team to a 3rd place finish at SRVA Regionals, earning a bid to USAV Nationals in Dallas. She has served as a national team head coach and program leader for both Academy Volleyball Club (Indianapolis) and Alliance Volleyball Club (Nashville), consistently leading teams to top finishes at national tournaments, including a 1st place finish at SRVA Regionals, multiple Top 20 finishes at National Qualifiers, and a Top 20 OPEN Division finish at AAU Nationals.

As a player, Christina competed as a six-rotation outside hitter in high school for top national teams at Houston Juniors and Texas Elite before transitioning into a defender position in college. She played NCAA Division I volleyball at Butler University as a defensive specialist, and brings her first-hand collegiate experience and high-level training into her coaching.

Structure:

  • Liberos will spend 90 minutes on the court – under the direction of Christina Saenger – working on positional specifics (including passing and defensive movement, “reading”/eyework in defense and serve receive, advanced platform mechanics, emergency defensive moves,etc.).

  • Sessions are designed for those who play the position of a defender (ages 14-18).

  • Training sessions will be held at Rhythm Volleyball Competition Center (2139 Logistics Way Murfreesboro TN 37127) following dates and times: 6/4, 6/11 & 6/18  (6:00 – 7:30).
